Myths on Laser Tattoo Removal Continued…

We all once thought that when we got a tattoo, that it was permanent and what we got we would be  Although our laser tattoo removal studio in Oak Brook would like for people to still consider tattoos in this sense to prevent people from living a life in embarrassment, shame, or to keep them from having employment, the reality is that tattoos really are not permanent thanks to laser tattoo removal.  With this advanced technology and considering ERASE’s R20 tattoo removal procedure, we now have the capability to remove unwanted tattoos and allow individuals to start on a clean slate.  With that being said, we would like to share a few more myths about laser tattoo removal procedures and correct them.
forced to live with forever.

A laser hair removal machine can remove unwanted tattoo ink-

This statement is not correct at all.  The pulse of tattoo removal lasers are much stronger than that of hair removal lasers in terms of the length the pulsation is used and the wavelengths.  Due to the pulse width, hair removal lasers are not adequate to remove tattoos.  If someone were to attempt to use a hair removal laser to remove ink, the risk of scarring is significantly higher than a tattoo removal laser.

New tattoos are unremovable-

Regardless of the age of the tattoo, the colors used, or even the size or location, the tattoo can be removed.  It is actually better to attempt to remove a new tattoo as opposed to an older tattoo because the ink has not settled in the skin as well as it has with older tattoos.  The time it takes to heal between treatments varies upon the individual regardless of the age of the tattoo.  Our asclepion tattoostar effect laser has the capability to remove any ink.

Tattoos will go away after one laser treatment-

Although our laser tattoo removal studio in Chicagoland would love to remove ink in one session to save time and money for our clients, the fact is simply that tattoo removal lasers cannot remove an entire tattoo in one session.  Unfortunately, technology has not advanced enough to create a laser with that kind of strength or capability.  Not only that, but if a laser could remove a tattoo in just one session, there is a great chance of damaging the skin because the area being worked on has probably received way too much attention.  There is no way to predict exactly how many treatments it would take to remove a tattoo, but we can estimate between 5-12 sessions and guarantee that the laser technology will work.
